There are Edinburgh Chemists spread all over the world, working in many professions. There is a strong sense of community amongst our alumni even after they leave the Joseph Black Building. Below are a few ways of getting back in touch with us or your year group.
The School holds, and is involved in, events throughout the year to which you are cordially invited. We always have a presence at the Edinburgh International Science Festival. Every year students and staff from the School of Chemistry work with colleagues on one of Europe's largest annual Science Festivals which inspires people of all ages and backgrounds to discover the wonder of the world around them.
Check back often to find out what we're up to.
Thinking about arranging a reunion for your year group? The Alumni Office can help out with advice and contact networks to help your reunion come together. It is often possible to arrange to have a talk from a member of academic staff on an area of current research. If you would like to arrange this or visit the Joseph Black Building as part of your reunion, please contact us. We would love to see you back!
- Read about the Class of 1958’s reunion in July 2015 and future reunions taking place in 2016 (1966 and Chemical Physics) in our newsletter.
The University Alumni Office has also created an Alumni Portal through which you can find and email long lost classmates and friends.
Networks and Groups
The University has alumni clubs and networks in the UK and across the world. These Networks arrange regular meet-ups and a variety of events, such as Burns Suppers, Happy Hours, Panel Debates, Whisky-tastings and Barbeques.
