A Century of Successful Female Chemists

Women have played a significant role in research over the last century in the School of Chemistry. In 2012, Polly Arnold was awarded the Rosalind Franklin award by the Royal Society for her contribution to research, and for a project seeking to quantify that success.

During this year, we are working to identify, evaluate, and disseminate the factors behind our success in achieving a critical mass of female faculty, and reducing the waste to society when highly skilled female scientists leave science.
