Getting to The University of Edinburgh
The School of Chemistry is located in the Joseph Black Building at the King's Buildings (KB) campus, approximately 2 miles south of the city centre. To get to the KB campus from the city centre it is possible to take the number 41, 42, 67 or 24 buses to the West Mains Road stop. In particular the 41 and 42 travels from the Mound, just off Princes Street, a few minutes walk from the Waverley Railway station. A taxi from the city centre to KB will cost approximately £6, and will take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on the time of day. Taxis can be flagged in the street, or from ranks at Waverley Railway station and around the city centre.
Parking on campus is restricted. For those arriving by car, a car parking permit can be purchased from inside the main entrance to the School of Chemistry (the Joseph Black Building). Alternatively there is limited street parking around the edges of the campus.
