An Inorganic Chemist by training, I now specialise in teaching first and second-year Courses. My time is divided between teaching and administrative duties within the CTO. My interests include e-Learning and new methodologies of teaching.

I am the Principal Director of Studies to students over all five-years of the degree structures as well as students on the taught MSc degree programmes for which I am also the Programme Director. I am developing new strategies for laboratory based teaching and am incorporating new technologies into this vital area. I am the Course Organiser for Chemistry with a Year Abroad MChem Degrees and Erasmus co-ordinator for Chemistry.

I chair the recruitment committee in the School and am responsible for all post- and pre- UCAS applicant visits. I am an Associate Liaison Officer for the Student Recruitment Agency of the University. I am the Scrutineer for the SQA Chemistry examinations and a member of the RSC Mathematics for Chemists Committee. Most importantly - I love inspiring an interest in Chemistry to anyone who will listen.
