Synthetic Organic Chemistry

I completed my PhD at the University of Loughborough under the supervision of Professor W. R. Bowman and then worked as a postdoctoral research associate with Professor John Joule on the synthesis of analogues of cofactors of oxomolybdoenzymes at the University of Manchester. I have held academic/research positions at the University of Auckland, SGC-university of Oxford and UEA.

I have PGCE (Secondary Science) qualifications that have helped me to explore a variety of methods and strategies for teaching science. Currently, I am involved in developing Iectures and experiments for undergraduates/postgraduates. I am very keen to develop strategies in teaching and learning at higher education level to enhance the learning experience for students.

My research interests include synthesis of biologically active heterocycles, synthesis of kinase inhibitors and natural products of alkaloid origin.
