Following research in radical chemistry I now specialise in the teaching of organic chemistry. I am interested in developing new strategies for effective learning, based on both traditional lecturing with laboratory teaching and interactive e-learning. I have recently been elected as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

As course organiser for both the second and third year organic laboratories I am responsible for the content and delivery of the courses. I am involved in development of new experiments to ensure the course reflects the content of the lectures and that techniques used reflect current practice in industry and research.
