Teaching Responsibilities

Laboratory Organiser for Environmental Chemistry

As laboratory course organiser I am responsible for the development delivery and assessment (through laboratory reports and examination) of the course.

In addition I undertake the following teaching:

  • Honours Project Supervisor for Science Education Placement and Public Engagement Projects
  • Lectures for Introductory Chemistry for Biologists
  • Tutorials and Senior Demonstrating
  • Science Communication for PGT course

I have a strategic approach to Outreach and Public Engagement for the School of Chemistry which involves providing opportunities for all staff and students in public engagement together with peer-led engagement through Public Engagement Development Scholarships. I have many years of experience of public engagement and have successfully led projects such as Superbugs, Renewable Energy Roadshow and I assisted in the project management of the Chemical Connection. I also delivered a full year of activities for International Year of Chemistry.
