Alumni Gathering: 100 Years of the Joseph Black Building

Saturday, June 1, 2024 - 10:00 to 18:00

  • Joseph Black Building, David Brewster Road, Edinburgh EH9 3FJ

The year 2024 will mark 100 years since the Joseph Black Building (previously known as the Chemistry Department) was officially opened in 1924.

On Saturday 1st June 2024, we will be celebrating this anniversary with a special gathering to bring together alumni who have studied with us across the decades of our School history. We warmly invite graduates to join us in celebrating the building, the research that has taken place here over the years, and the brilliant people who have walked through our doors.

The programme will include talks from academic staff, tours of the facilities led by our current students and a networking reception. A full programme of speakers and talks will be shared prior to the event.

The day programme will be followed by an optional dinner at South Hall (Pollock Estate). Tickets are now available to purchase separately via ePay, the University of Edinburgh's Online Store.

Please note that spaces are limited due to capacity, so advance registration is required.
